Man, it has been a hard couple of years. Many of my friends and family have suffered some of the most difficult times we have ever known. Many of us have suffered financial hardship, sickness and the loss of loved ones. For me, I have never experienced so much difficulty. At times, it has been enough to bring me to my knees.
While it has felt at times that my world has been systematically crumbling around me, I have found that God has always made a way for me and my loved ones. In the last couple of years we have lost our entire savings, struggled with severe health issues, and suffered the loss of my father in January 2011. So while I have a number of reasons to no longer have peace in my life, I can honestly say that the peace remains because of who God is!
Hear his words saying, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV).

Not too long ago, I found out the only way to live is to live on God’s promises. There is nothing else to live on. We can stand on faith because of His promises. This has turned into a message I’ve taken into the prisons based on Romans 4:13, where Paul writes “It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.”
We can receive God’s promises through our faith and the more we do that the greater our faith, and the greater our faith the more promises we can see and the more promises we can stand on resulting in a greater faith to stand on.
