You will remember it was Pentecost when Peter preached that first sermon in which many responded by asking the question, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Peter responded by telling them that they needed to “Repent and be baptized” (Acts 2:38)
But what does it mean to “repent?” Repent certainly means to “be sorry” or to “be penitent” about the sin or action in one’s life. But it means something more than simply feeling sorry. It means that one’s sorrow is so deep and convicting that they actually change the direction of the kind of things they are doing in life. A repentant person will not only be sorry, but he will stop doing what he has been doing and will do something different.
For those who had believed Peter’s message at Pentecost, they would have to stop working and speaking against God and start obeying God, and that change would begin with them repenting and being baptized in the name of Jesus.

To “repent” and “turn away from” a sinful lifestyle, may be difficult for some to actually do, BUT….the rewards of “the new” direction your life will be going, far outweighs ANYTHING the old life had to offer………you will be going HOME! Thanks Keith!
