“The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.” 44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” (John 1:43-45, NIV)
There is an excitement and anticipation brewing. Jesus has a ministry to begin, and he does not hesitate, but immediately begins to gather a following. One by one he calls them, one by one he leads them. Such is the beginning of great things. The greatest journey begins with the smallest step.
What began two-thousand years ago with the One named Jesus, began to grow as four men, Philip, Andrew, Peter and Nathanael were entreated by the Lord to enter upon a journey that would one day change the world. It began with the simple step of following Christ. Would you my friend take a step toward Jesus?
