“John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’” (John 1:15, NIV)
John the Baptist has it so right. Even though John was older than Jesus he knew who was the greater man, it was Jesus! And it was Jesus for so many reasons and for so many blessings. But unless we are willing to humble ourselves before him, to accept him who surpasses us, we will never be able to truly walk in His blessings. You may be rich, you may be poor, you may be the owner of a great corporation or just the one who pushes the broom, you may be leader of a nation or the family man just barely getting by trying to take care of your family. Whoever we might be, we will never be all we can be until we freely cry out, “Jesus, you are greater, you are Creator, Sustainer and Savior, you are Lord!”

Another beautiful lesson Keith…..and yes, he is the GREATEST man to ever live!! And each and every one of those “reasons” that he is the greatest….is indeed, truly a blessing. I can’t imagine not having the Lord in my life….because there was a time that I did not and I for one, do NOT wish to go back to that time! Thank you God, for the wonderful grace and mercy that is mine today because of the God/man Jesus!!
