“John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’” (John 1:15, NIV)
What an honor it must have been for John the Baptist to announce the coming of Jesus. Just think about it, John, who is Jesus’ cousin has the opportunity to proclaim the arrival of the Lord and his ministry of redemption!
Could there be any better message, any better job, any better responsibility or activity under the sun? John the Baptist may have had the first opportunity to proclaim the arrival of Jesus’ ministry but you and I have the opportunity to continue the legacy as messengers that Jesus Christ has come with good news. Two thousand years ago John cried out that Jesus was here, and we would be wise to do the same today! Cry out for our community, cry out for America, cry out for our world, cry out that Jesus has come!
Crying out for Jesus,

And Keith…the beautiful part of this (to me), is that we can do that in so many ways. We proclaim the good news about Jesus by a helping hand given to someone who is in despair……..a warm touch, a hug, or a handshake for someone who is lonely and feeling forgotten…..a word of encouragement to someone struggling. We can let the “light” of the Son shine and proclaim that Jesus has indeed come by being the “lantern” through which that light shines! Thank you Lord Jesus for coming to save this lost and dying world….thank you for loving even ME!…..and thank you Keith for sharing this good news!
